Members who volunteered to join the Advisory Committee met on Thursday, 16th May to discuss the next steps forward.

The full minutes of the meeting can be found here in the Documents section.

It was agreed at the meeting to adopt the constitution model that is set out in the Deed of Conditions. For the purposes of becoming an established Owners' Association, we require a minimum of 40% of votes from the total number of homes on the development. The majority vote then decides the outcome.

For the purposes of becoming established, the Association will initially be representing the owners' within phases 1 and 2 of Stewart Milne homes, and phase 1 of Bellway homes. Once the Association is fully up and running, it can look to extend its representation to other areas of the wider development.

Once this committee is approved, the Association can then get on with addressing concerns and matters on behalf of all residents. It is the intention of the Advisory Committee to run a vote for all homeowners to approve the appointment. We will shortly be writing to all homeowners, via the factor, to invite homeowners to cast their vote online.

The members who have volunteered for the Advisory Committee are:

  • Ayo Alagbe
  • Chrissy Rooney
  • David Mair
  • Dasha Chan
  • Hazel Hutton
  • James McIntyre
  • Lhyam Sumal
  • Shareen Ali
  • William King Hay Chan

Thanks for participating in the vote for the advisory committee recently for Brackenhill Park Hamilton, Owners Association.

I'm pleased to say that there was a majority vote in favour of supporting the committee. For this vote, we were concentrating on the two Stewart Milne phases plus phase one of Bellway, and we required a minimum of 116 votes to become properly established within these areas. We received a total of 140, with a 98% majority vote in favour. We also received a further 16 votes from the second phase of Bellway homes, plus 13 votes from Barratt homes. A breakdown of how individual streets voted can be viewed by clicking the button below. If you are a resident within the Bellway Phase 2 or Barratt homes and would like to support our efforts in this part of the development, please get in touch by e-mail.

What happens now?

The advisory committee will meet to officially ratify the vote with Tenant Information Services, and to set out its agenda for managing the factor based on the feedback received from homeowners. We will also be working with the factor to set out the feedback received and agree a way forward to resolve reported issues. The committee will publish this information on its web site and by issuing further communications to owners in due course.

If you would like any further information or to help the committee in the meantime, please reply to this e-mail.
